1TRIBE is the latest musical project of Charlie Brown, the New Zealand producer and artist also known as Optimus Gryme, drawing on his Māori heritage and a lifelong fascination with global tribal music. The project fuses ancestral rhythmic patterns and handcrafted native-wood instrumentation with deep, atmospheric contemporary electronic production, creating what the artist describes as music where "the ancient and the modern not only coexist, but feel intrinsically connected." 1TRIBE performs at major Aotearoa festivals including Luminate and Dimension, delivering ritual-like sound immersions designed as healing experiences rather than conventional DJ sets.
