Optimus Gryme

Optimus Gryme (Charlie Brown) is a Waiheke Island-based DJ, producer, and label founder widely regarded as a pioneer of New Zealand dubstep and bass music. He released NZ's first dubstep EP, 12" vinyl, and full-length artist album, founding his own imprint Optimus Gryme Recordings, and has collaborated with Shapeshifter, Shihad, Truth, and international acts including Dub FX and Antiserum. With roots stretching back to hip-hop and drum and bass, he is known for his heavy, bass-driven sound and a decade of releases spanning dubstep, trap, and electronic music.
